Since 2000, Meravigliosa Umbria has been organising cycling and walking holidays through this beautiful part of central Italy. Our carefully designed routes take you through the countryside and connect some of Umbria’s most fascinating towns, including Assisi, Spello, Perugia, Bevagna, Montefalco and Spoleto.

We know the region and its routes personally and use this local knowledge to create holidays that allow you to experience Umbria beyond its most famous sights.

Our self-guided cycling and walking holidays in Umbria give you the freedom to travel independently and at your own pace, while we take care of the organisation behind your journey.

Depending on the tour, we arrange carefully selected accommodation, luggage transfers, navigation app with detailed routes and travel information, with local assistance available when needed. For our cycling holidays, hybrid bikes, e-bikes, road bikes and gravel bikes are also available.

Cycling in Umbria is a wonderful way to discover the region’s medieval towns, quiet country roads and beautiful landscapes. Since 2000, we have been creating self-guided cycling holidays in Umbria, combining carefully planned routes whit culture, nature and authentic local experiences.

Cycle through the Valle Umbra between Assisi, Spello, Bevagna, Montefalco and Spoleto, explore countryside around Lake Trasimento, Perugia and Orvieto, or choose a more challenging ride thorugh the Umbrian hills. Our cycling tours range from easy itineraries for leisure cyclists to more demanding road bike and gravel routes, with e-bikes also available.

  • We returned home from Italy about two weeks ago and I felt it would be amiss of me not to touch base with you and thank you for your assistance in arranging the Medieval villages walk in Umbria. We spent a month in Italy and the walk was in our first week of being in the country. Friends keep asking us, what was the highlight and we keep saying that whilst it was all fantastic, we absolutely loved the simplicity of the walk and our favourite accommodation of the entire trip was definitely Assisi (please pass this onto them).

    It was such a lovely setting, relaxed and the staff were just so lovely and helpful and the place was so clean and the pool just made it extra relaxing, so Im so glad we stayed extra nights before the walk. All of the accommodation was excellent, but Assisi did feel special. The walk itself was fabulous. The instructions were good and the GPS App worked really well except for in one section when it indicated that we were off track by quite a bit but we stuck to the written instructions and that got us through. 

    So many thanks from Mat and myself and it was lovely to meet you in Assis and we appreciate the wonderful service and support you provided.
